Instead of Carly and Holly, maybe Molly? Like Tessa, it originates as a nickname but has 'gone independent'.

For a boy, maybe Rhys or Reese? It has the lightly-surname-y feel I get from both Quinn and Grant. (Of course, the usage of the Old English given name Grante/Grente was so long ago that memory of it is only preserved in a few English placenames, but everything old is -- eventually -- new again...)

You can also play around with the Name Matchmaker on this site. Put in some of your existing or not-quite-right names, and see if it suggests anything that catches your interest.

I do like Molly, but I think I like Holly better. I will suggest it to my husband and see which he likes better.

And I really like Reese, but I don't love that it's more popular as a girls name now.

Rhys, the original Welsh spelling, is still solidly masculine; when you combine its numbers with the male Reeses the name is much closer to unisex than "gone girl" (in 2016, about 0.05% of boys were named either Rhys or Reese, which is just over half as many as the 0.095% of girls who were named Reese).

You have history on your side if you use Reese for a boy. Plus, is it really such a bad thing if occasionally someone thinks he's a girl? Doesn't that ever happen with Quinn?

And, as nedibes points out, the Welsh spelling is solidly masculine, which would help a lot in terms of gender assumptions -- when encountering a name in speech, the bearer is usually right there; it's only in writing that people make decisions or assumptions in a vacuum.

I like Britta, but I think of the water filter. And I like Sadie, but I feel like many people use it as a dog name now.

I like Dean, Reese (I don't like that it is more popular as a girls name), and Carson.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Of course!

Any interest in Bria or Britt as non-filter alternatives? Maybe Sophie instead of Sadie?

For some reason Clark jumped out at me as soon as I saw your kids' names and won't leave me alone.

Also, maybe Maeve, Alice, Elise, Claire, Miles, Jude, Simon, Noel.

Clark and Grant are kind of a pair in my mind. Maybe in yours, too?

10

I really like Clark! I like Miles a lot too! Good options to add to my list. Thank you!

11

Maybe Clark Gable and Cary Grant?

12

Err, that should've been a reply to Karyn.

But glad you liked the names! They're two of my favorites as well.

I think that is definitely a factor! (I was in a huge rush while posting my comment and couldn't remember who the Clark actor was, so I left it out.) Though the fact that they're both one-syllable surnames with internal Rs and sharp stop-consonants at the end must play a large role, too. Whatever it is, they're a great pairing!

Congats on #4! From your list, Brady seems to fit the kind of pattern you have going already. I wonder if that doesnt feel right if you may like Grady instead? I will also throw in Connor, Dawson, and Ryder as suggestions.

Your girls names seem to be a bit of a different style than Tessa. To me, when I hear Tessa, some other names that spring to mind are Lydia, Fiona, Clara, Abigail, Anna, Maren.

The feel of your kids' names reminds me of the names a friend of mine loved for her boys. Maybe one of them will strike a chord with you: Nevin, Rory

Girls names are a little harder for me to think of, because Tessa and the other girl names you like are stylistically a bit different (to me) than the boy names you like. Maybe Georgia, Lucie, Jaya?

Rory sounds like a great match!

17

I'd start with 5 letter names

I think since the boys have 1 syllable names I'd start with that

Blake, Bryce, Heath, Craig, Miles, Reece, Vance, Brock, Rhett, Shane, Shaun, Scott, Lloyd, Lance, Royce,

for girls Holly is pretty,  Carly is nice too, Jayna is ok

Bella, Greta, Heidi, Laura, Elsie, Chloe, Josie, Megan, Susan, Julie, Julia, Renee

others   Hayley, Eliza, Erica, Anika, Fiona, Nadia, Sophia, Emily

For some reason "Hugh" jumps out for me.  Though I rather like Clark.

With a brother named Grant, I wouldn't do Hugh.

Cameron

As a group, your kids' names give me a sort of modern fine arts feel (probably because of "The Mighty Quinn", Tess of the D'Urbervilles, and Grant Wood). Some other names that have a similar vibe for me, in no particular order: Lawrence, Auden, Orson, Ridley, Isadora, Eliot (that spelling for the artsy modernist feel, though I quite like Elliott also), Audra/Audre, Rosalind, Dylan, Dorothy, Mina, Gwen.

Girl: Sadie, Ruby, Arly, Callie

Boy: Boaz, Jude, Blake, Brooks, Jaiken

Good suggestions already above.

I played with NameMatchmaker, just to see. It likes Reese for a boy or a girl with your exiating sibset. The other boy names have all been mentioned upsteam. For girls, I like its suggestions of Piper or Mallory.

24

I have a Quinn (girl) as well. If I decide to have more children, I would be doing Violet for a girl and Theo for a boy

Other suggestions:

Girl- Luna, Rory, Lydia, Kora, Fallon, Genevive, Shea, Jana, Isabel, Sage, Keeley, Paxton

Boy- Miles, Jude, Caleb, Dalton, Connor, Milo, Maveric, Grayson, Henry, Isaac, Rowen, Devin

Good luck(:
